wilmington stone head

While I was researching the Longman of Wilmington, I came across a very blurred picture of a stone head from the Wilmington Priory ruins. Intrigued, I tracked the head down to Lewes castle Museum, via the collections officer, Emma O’Connor.

The date and origins have been lost, but as it was found around the priory grounds, it is probably early medieval.
Here are some rough drawings for the head. I will follow up with more soon.
